This is a really cool piece!  An antique rolling pin that was well used for years and has the scars to show for it, was being sold at a yard sale.  One of Tom's friends picked up two of them to see if he would be interesting in carving the wood.  The results are two, very different rolling pin carvings - and this is #2!

Carved in the round - literally, the textured hat trim and beard give this a great look that you will be proud to display in your collection.  This would be perfect for the primitive country Christmas kitchen.  (But don't use the pin for baking - it would take forever to get the dough out of all the grooves Tom carved in the beard!)

18" in length - the pin itself is between 2.5" and 2.75" in diameter.  You've got a couple of display options:

You could hang this in a pin rack - if you've got one - or you can add on either of Tom's options below -
A leather cord complete with several rusted jingle bells, allowing you to hang this off the wall...  or -
Tom could create a base that the lower handle would sit in, allowing the pin to stand upright.  (This option will add about a week or so to the shipping as it will be custom made.)

In all, this Rolling Pin Santa will make a very unique piece that you will love to display!
