Wine Barrel Carving Gallery #5

Hand Carved Wine Barrel Heads - Wine Art Gallery.
Celebration - Oak Wreath, Carroll County, MD.
The inspiration for this piece was the Carroll County Arts Council's Festival of Wreaths. Each year, artists and businesses decorate wreaths for a silent auction to benefit the Arts Council. Tom wanted to introduce his art to the community and decided to create a wine barrel carving for the event. The oak leaves were decided upon to celebrate the wood that created the wine. A farm from the county was used in the wreath (with minor changes) and the ribbon banner at the bottom was engraved with the county and state. This oak wreath barrel head was carved at The Maryland Wine Festival, Westminster Fallfest and the Fall Harvest Days celebration. The wreath was auctioned at the Carroll County Arts Council in December 2004.
