Hand Carved Wine Barrel Heads - Wine Art Gallery.

Deer Meadow Winery - Winchester, VA.

Carved out of a wine barrel beloved by the winery's owner, this work was commissioned by his wife.  The barrel features a design from a wine label.  Two barrel stave signs were carved and gold leafed from the same barrel.  Tom laid out the design so the stamping on the head could remain.  Reportedly when the gift was given, her husband's response was:

"That's the best use for that #@&**%! barrel yet!"
