Full Wine Barrel Carvings - A Tribute to Earle Brown
This impressive stack of carved wine barrels sits at one end of Sebastiani's Barrel Room. The barrel heads each feature a different vintage.
Since wine barrel heads are often joined with dowel pins, you can see in several of the close-up photos below, that the carving is not deep.
My belief is that the Vin Rose' barrel head on the right is one of Earle's later works. My reasoning - while the depth of carving is roughly the same, the design has more perceived depth and layering.
