E-Mail Information!!! - Please Read This!!!

We recently had a problem when a client ordered a custom carving and thought it was a stock item - expecting shipment within two days.  Tom responded to multiple e-mails, however the customer's spam blocker was apparently trashing the responses.  As a result, each client e-mail became more and more desperate.

If you do not receive an order confirmation and shipment estimate from sales@crafty-owl.com or craftyowl123@aol.com within 48 hours of placing your order - PLEASE check your spam folder.  If you continue to get no response - please include a phone number with your e-mail and we will call you.

Ordering on-line can be nerve racking when you do not get acknowledgement from a real person.  We value your business and want you to know that!

Order Information

Since all items are one of a kind, Crafty Owl attempts to keep the website as up to date as possible.  In the event a one of a kind item is listed and two people order that item before the sold tag goes in place - the second person would be offered the choice of a refund or a similar item custom crafted.  This has never happened - but it could - so Dierdre wanted you to know the policy.

PLEASE read the description and surrounding information.  Some carvings are in stock and you are buying the actual piece shown.  Some carvings show sample pictures but are considered a custom carving.   Please do not order a custom carving and become upset that your order will take more than two days to ship!

Payment:

Crafty Owl accepts PayPal on line.  PayPal has been extremely reliable and safe.  For more information you may visit: https://www.paypal.com

Never E-Mail Credit Card Information!!!

If you prefer not to order on line, Crafty Owl accepts checks or money orders made out to Crafty Owl and sent to:  P.O. Box 2131* Westminster, Maryland 21158.  When payment is being made in this manner, please e-mail or call (410)876-6771for a total, including shipping.  One of a kind items will be held for one week from receipt of e-mail to receipt of payment.  Checks must clear before any item is shipped.

Crafty Owl also accepts American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover Card by phone.  Brightstar Promotions of Louisville, KY. processes phone credit card transactions for Crafty Owl.  Your credit card statement will feature their name.  If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail or call 410-876-6771.

Custom Orders:

On custom orders, all work is done on a first come, first served basis.  Crafty Owl will attempt to keep approximate production schedules on all custom order pages.  If you do not see the production schedule estimate, please e-mail so there are no surprises.  Custom schedules are also affected by website closings.  For example, if the website is closed for one week, an estimated eight week production schedule would not start until the site reopens, making the time frame nine weeks. 

Tom prefers to keep customers happy.  He usually adds a bit of extra time to any quotes.  He would rather quote you eight weeks and deliver in five, than quote you five weeks and deliver in eight. 

There are occasions however when delivery will take every bit of the scheduled time.  In the event delivery can not be made when promised, the client has the right to cancel the order for full refund - or - accept a revised delivery date.  Crafty Owl will work extremely hard to make certain this policy is never required.

No work begins on a custom order until payment is made.  Design fees must be paid up front if required for Barrel carvings or sign work.  This is a non-refundable fee, but is applied to the final price of the item when approved.  For sign and barrel carvings, a 50% deposit is required before any carving starts.   On "pre-designed" personalized signs, total payment is required at time of order.  This also applies to carved wooden goblets, chalices and cups.

Shipment:

Shipment of "stock" items is usually within 48 hours of receipt of payment.  Exceptions naturally are weekends,  holidays, and when the Crafty Owl website is closed.  You can find out the status of the website on most ordering pages and the home page by viewing the crawling text:

Crafty Owl has had success with Priority Mail through the Post Office.  All packages are sent with delivery confirmation.  If you prefer Insurance or Express Mail, these items can be added to your shopping cart by clicking the buttons below:

Refunds And Returns:

For custom orders, Crafty Owl can not provide a refund due to the nature of the item.  When you receive a design proof, please check it for accuracy in spelling, font style and look.  If you approve the design proof the creation is yours.  If the product arrives damaged, naturally Crafty Owl will replace the item if the delivery is insured. 

On stock items, Crafty Owl is pretty specific in with descriptions.  If something turns out not to be what you expect, you may return the item.  Please e-mail Tom within three days of receipt if a return must be made.  Once the item has arrived safely back at Crafty Owl you will be credited the amount of the item, minus any shipping charges.  Please note if the item was used that we will not provide a refund.
