Wooden Spoon #210 - Walnut Wood with Turned Handle.
About 13 3/8" in length, this spoon was carved from a 3/4" thick piece of
interesting Walnut lumber. Walnut is a dark wood, however the sap wood,
closest to the outside of the tree is actually light, almost tan in color.
This particular piece was right near that contrast - so the top of the spoon
features a darker chocolate coloring and the bottom is much lighter. You
can definitely see the shading variation in the carved spoon bowl.
The 3.75" x 2 3/8" bowl has good depth for a shallow spoon and yet is heavy
enough that you'll never fear for it! If you like walnut and darker woods,
this spoon will look great in your kitchen and is one you will love using.

Wooden Spoon #211 - Walnut Wood with Turned Handle.
About 11.5" in length, this spoon was also carved from the piece of
Walnut lumber mentioned above. This section of the wood almost looks as
though the lighter tan coloring of the sap wood was brushed into the darker
heart wood. The spoon's bowl is about 4" long by 2.5" wide and
is a bit shallower than spoon #210, creating a nice heavy bowl. The
turned accent on the handle completes this one of a kind work of functional folk
art.

Wooden Spoon #212 - Walnut Wood with Turned Handle.
About 11.5" in length, this spoon was also carved from - can you guess it?
- the same piece of
Walnut lumber as spoons #210 & #211. The coloring on the handle shows how
the lighter sap wood interacts with the darker heartwood. In fact, the
handle is mostly tan which creates flames of darker brown rising from the spoon
bowl. What the picture doesn't show is on the side of the bowl facing the
camera, it almost looks like tan flames licking the wood - very striking!
A nice thick bowl & a comfortable strong handle make this a spoon you will make
great use of and one that will look good when you use it!
